Before the official school year opens, pre-registration and testing for Session 1 will occur on August 15-18. Students who wish to enroll in GED or diploma classes, for day classes only, may report to the Newberry Adult Learning Center on August 15, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Prospective students may wish to call ahead at 803-321-2112 to reserve a spot or receive further information.

Students who wish to register for day classes or night classes within the school year may do so at 9:00 a.m.(day classes) or 5:30 p.m.(night classes) on the following dates:

    September 13       December            March 6

    October 4           January 10          April 10

    November 1        February 7

Day students are allowed to enter class only at the beginning of a session. Students must pre-register and pre-test prior to entering class at the beginning of a session.  

Night students can register and pre-test on designated Tuesday nights of each month at 5:30 pm during the school year and start attending class at that time, if space is available.

The Newberry Adult Education program will have five (4) sessions of class in the daytime during the 2011-2012 school year. Diploma students WILL have the opportunity in each session to earn one credit or course. GED students will be placed in a GED classroom with the goal to make progress each session towards passing the Official GED test.

Diploma students will be able to enroll in as many sessions as needed to complete requirements for a State High School diploma. GED students can enroll in as many sessions as needed to be fully prepared to take the Official GED test. ESL students can enroll in as many sessions as needed to be proficient in the English language.
