Welcome to Boundary Street Elementary School "Where Everybody is Somebody".
To all members of the Boundary Street Elementary School family, I would like to extend a sincere welcome as I begin my tenure as your principal. Although we have recently opened the doors to another rewarding school year and our children have enjoyed a much deserved break from school work, we are already planning for an exciting 2011-2012 school year.
We look forward to our students bringing their tales of summer time adventure into the classroom when they return to school.
The staff and I are
very excited that you have entrusted your child’s education to us. We will
make every effort to help your child achieve academically and socially this
year. It is our goal to create an enriching learning environment that engages
the student. Of course, as the first teachers in your child’s life we need
your support and cooperation. Boundary Street Elementary School has an excellent
teaching staff with a wealth of knowledge. We also have an excellent support
staff that will work in different capacities to support your child’s learning.
Placing a strong emphasis on the components of the elementary-level instruction,
we will continue to help our students bridge the gap between elementary and
middle school experiences. The team structure of Boundary Street Elementary
School provides small learning communities within the school that allow our
teachers to better understand the academic, social, emotional, and developmental
needs of each child. Furthermore, the team structure permits
common-planning-time to coordinate and integrate core curriculum across subject
areas.
I look forward to forming new relationships as I become a member of the Newberry community. To our children, I encourage you to enjoy your experiences and stimulate your mind in all your endeavors. Keep a book, newspaper, or favorite magazine close at hand and read everyday. Again, I look forward to seeing you throughout the school year.
