Educator for a Day |
November 19, 2009 |
Educator for a Day was a program sponsored by the Newberry County Career Center in observance of American Education Week. Non-educators from the community were asked to be guest speakers on topics such as the importance of education; how a college degree affects your career options; what the real world of work is really like, etc. In addition, advisory committee members and parents/guardians were able to share personal stories of work successes and challeges.
Our mission was to not only increase parental involvement, but also community awareness and education of the Career and Technology Education programs available at the Newberry County Career Center. Many thanks to WKDK, Jimmy Coggins, for the live broadcast during this Educator for a Day program!
