The 8th Grade Visual Art II classes designed a mural based on self-love. The students identified self-love as the most important mantra that middle schoolers need to hear. The design will include a flower that each student will create to represent themselves and a variety of other flowers to represent all of the different personalities that fill our school. The message of the mural is "Everyone is a unique flower and all together we make a beautiful garden." Students began prepping the wall this week.

MCMS would like to thank Ms. Kris Abell from DHEC for her “Action for a Cleaner Tomorrow” presentation to our 7th grade science classes. Students learned how humans affect Earth’s resources and the environment. Ms. Abell also discussed steps everyone can take to help conserve resources by reducing, reusing, and recycling.

April is Poetry Month, and Mid Carolina celebrated Poem in Your Pocket Day today. Students and staff carried poems around with them and shared these poems with others. In Ms. Richardson's class, students wrote poems and gave each other positive feedback. Do you have a favorite poem to share with someone today?
