8th Grade ONLY
Job shadowing will take place during the month of February and is for eighth grade students only. Completed forms are due to me by Friday, January 30. Please note that no late forms will be accepted unless prior arrangements have been made.
I will be happy to assist students with locating a job shadowing site when possible; however, placements cannot be guaranteed. Please have all completed forms returned directly to me in my box in the front office or by email.
If additional copies are needed, I am including a link to the forms for printing. I will provide a spreadsheet of names and job shadowing dates of students who have returned completed forms with legitimate job shadowing sites to you as quickly as possible. I will also provide job shadowing packets to students that includes all necessary follow-up documentation necessary for this to be an approved school absence.
Please remind students that all requests for Newberry Hospital placements must be sent via email to Laurie Suber, Work-Based Learning Coordinator, at lsuber@sdnc.org.
If you or your students have any questions about job shadowing, please feel free to contact me. I am happy to assist students in any way I can.
Thank you for your support in helping make this opportunity successful for our students!

Thank you to South Carolina House of Representatives member Joe White (District 40), representing Lexington and Newberry Counties, for visiting Newberry Middle School today. It was truly our pleasure to give you a tour of our campus and introduce you to the students, faculty, and staff who were able to join us.
Thank you as well for the donuts for our faculty and for taking the time to write letters and personally deliver them to NMS. Your letters to our Students of the Month, i-Ready award winners, and grade-level award recipients—as well as to our outstanding faculty and staff—meant so much to our school community and are greatly appreciated.
We are proud of Newberry Middle School!
